PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: June 2026
Lotus Justice & Support Centre CIC (Lotus, we, us, our) is committed to protecting your personal data and your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website and our online learning, how we use it, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Lotus Justice & Support Centre CIC is a Community Interest Company registered in England and Wales (company number 17184809). We act as the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
What information we collect
We keep the data we collect to a minimum. When you register for or complete our online course, we collect your name and your email address. We do not collect payment information, as our course is provided free of charge. We do not ask you to provide information about your personal circumstances in order to use the course.
How we use your information
We use the information you provide only to create and manage your learning account, to give you access to the course and record your progress and completion, to issue your certificate of completion, and to respond to any enquiry you send us. We will not use your information for any other purpose without your consent, and we will never sell your personal data to anyone.
Our lawful basis for processing
Under the UK GDPR, our lawful basis for processing your name and email address is the performance of our service to you, namely providing access to the course you have chosen to take, and our legitimate interest in administering that service. Where we send you anything beyond what is needed to deliver the course, we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Our online learning platform
Our course is delivered through Teachable, a third party online learning platform. When you register, your name and email address are stored securely within that platform so that your account and progress can be managed. Teachable processes this data on our behalf and is required to keep it secure. You can read how Teachable handles data in its own privacy policy on its website.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information only for as long as is necessary to provide the course and to maintain a record of your completion. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal data unless we are required to retain certain records by law.
Keeping your information secure
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or misuse. Access to your data is limited to those who need it to administer the course.
Your rights
Under data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete, to ask us to delete your personal data, to ask us to restrict or object to how we use your data, and to withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on consent. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection, at ico.org.uk.
