About This Course
Understanding Domestic Violence and Abuse is a free, CPD Certified online course developed by Lotus Justice & Support Centre CIC - London's first Romanian-specialist domestic abuse support organisation. Designed for professionals across health, social care, legal, housing, education and the voluntary sector, it equips you to recognise the signs of domestic abuse, respond safely, and support survivors with confidence. Built on current UK legal frameworks - including the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 and Section 76 of the Serious Crime Act 2015 - it draws on direct frontline practice, with a distinctive focus on supporting Romanian-speaking and migrant survivors. The course is self-paced, trauma-informed, and concludes with a final assessment and a CPD certificate.
